Spherical Plain Bearings that require maintenance are divided into radial and axial bearings. There are also large spherical plain bearings and angular spherical plain bearings. With these spherical plain bearings, steel rubs against steel or bronze. Regular lubrication and greasing is therefore necessary. If the maintenance is done, the bearings can withstand high loads as well as shock loads. Radial spherical plain bearings that require maintenance have inner and outer rings made of steel/steel or steel/bronze. The inner rings have a cylindrical bore with a spherical outer slideway. The lateral surface of the outer rings is cylindrical. In the case of axial spherical plain bearings, the shaft washer is located in the ball socket-shaped sliding zone of the housing washer. The bearing is made of steel/steel. Angular spherical plain bearings also consist of the steel/steel combination. They have inner rings with a spherical outer slideway and outer rings with a concave inner slideway.
