History

The keystone of our company history

From the ashes to success

After the war, Eisenhart Laeppché founded our company by collecting and reconditioning bearings from the remains of destroyed port facilities. Laeppché often delivered these “new old” bearings personally, including to one of his first major customers, Krone, for whom he traveled more than 150 km with his bike.

This innovative approach laid the foundation for Laeppché. It shows how we turn challenges into opportunities - a principle that still characterizes our philosophy today.
Pathfinding for growth

Expansion and innovation in the Claus-Peter Laeppché era

Claus-Peter Laeppché, the founder's son, joined the company in 1975 and, together with his father, drove its development forward. During this time, we not only expanded our customer base considerably, but also our warehouse capacities.

The introduction of the first digital processes initiated the digitalization of our business. During this era, we also began to build up an international customer base and successfully established the retail business as a new division.
Expansion of our own brand ELW

Innovation and quality standard since 1988

In 1988, Laeppché began producing bearings under its own ELW brand in order to expand our product portfolio alongside the offerings of premium manufacturers.

To ensure the highest quality, we introduced a two-stage quality control system that raised our products to international standards. These bearings quickly reached the quality level of premium products. Over the years, we have continuously expanded our product range and today we specialize in customized solutions that are manufactured exactly according to customer drawings.
Innovative expansion in production

Dynamic growth and technological improvements in 2011

2011 marked a significant turning point for Laeppché in terms of further development and growth. With the construction of a new highly modern production hall and the introduction of the new Linear Technology division, we not only significantly expanded our production capacities, but also enlarged our technological portfolio.

The newly constructed hall was gradually equipped with the latest technologies, enabling us to develop customized solutions that guarantee the highest precision and quality. This strategic expansion was essential in order to diversify our range of specialized bearings and linear guides and to respond even more specifically to the individual requirements of our customers.

In 2020, Laeppché increased its focus on online sales and set new standards in digital customer service. Improving our e-services was a crucial step to meet changing market conditions and growing customer demands.

By introducing a user-friendly online store and expanding our digital service offerings, we were able to significantly increase accessibility and convenience for our customers. These innovations enable our customers to purchase products faster and more efficiently and support them with extensive online resources.
