Spherical Plain Bearings can withstand changing loads due to impact and shock stresses, and they can effectively compensate for shaft misalignments. For this reason, joint bearings are suitable for rough operating environments and are often maintenance-free. The so-called sliding contact occurs between a spherical inner ring and an outer ring, which has a hollow spherical shape. This allows the joint bearing to rotate, tilt, and pivot. This rolling bearing is available in different material combinations (steel/steel, steel/bronze, steel/PTFE). In addition to radial bearings, axial joint bearings consist of a shaft and housing disc. Axial forces are immediately transmitted to the connecting structure. Joint heads consist of a bearing housing with a joint bearing and are primarily suitable for changing radial loads.
Areas of application: bridge construction, construction machinery, bag filling machines, carton erectors, vending machines, bottling plants
