Alignment Needle Bearings
The manufacture of alignment needle bearings in the aerospace industry requires extreme precision, since high safety and reliability standards must be maintained. Therefore, they are subjected to extensive testing and strict quality control to ensure that they meet requirements and can withstand the extreme stresses of flight operations.
Alignment needle bearings allow axial displacement of the inner and outer rings up to 3 degrees. Their special design, in which the inner ring is mounted in a movable sleeve, permits the axial preload of the bearing to be adjusted by tightening or loosening a nut. In this way, optimized load distribution and increased bearing life are obtained. These bearings are reliable and efficient, even under extreme conditions, and ensure proper functionality of machinery and equipment.
Alignment needle bearings without an inner ring require a hardened and ground shaft for smooth performance. If this requirement is not provided, it is recommended to use setting needle bearings with an inner ring, as the inner ring offers additional stability and supports the alignment of the bearing on the shaft.
