Axial Spherical Roller Bearings are single row rolling bearings designed to support high axial and radial loads. They consist of solid shaft locating washers and housing locating washers. Their special angular mobility enables them to compensate for inclination between the washers and to compensate for misalignments, shaft deflections and housing deformations.

There are several types of cages used in axial spherical roller thrust bearings. Sheet metal cages, made of lightweight sheet metal, are less expensive and still provide good guidance and flexibility to accommodate alignment changes. Solid cages, on the other hand, are made of sturdy brass material and are more rigid and durable. They can support heavier loads and provide excellent guidance and stability for spherical rollers.

Spherical roller bearings are characterized by their high load carrying capacity and are especially suitable for demanding applications in heavy industry, mechanical engineering, rail vehicles, wind energy, and the marine and offshore industries.
