Axial Deep Groove Ball Bearings consist of separate components and are not self-locking due to their construction. They provide individual assembly of shaft locating washer, housing locating washer, ball and cage assemblies and washer. By combining these components and using a cage, they can support and transmit high axial loads.

The housing washer of the axial deep groove ball bearing on the housing side has a flat surface with grooves on which the balls roll. An alternative is the spherical housing washer with a concave shape for improved centering and larger contact area of the balls. This improves the load distribution and load carrying capacity of the bearing.

Single direction axial deep groove ball bearings consist of a shaft locating washer, housing locating washer and ball and cage assembly and are specifically designed for loads in a particular direction. They can support and transmit loads in either the direction of the shaft locating washer or the housing locating washer.

Double direction axial deep groove ball bearings consist of a shaft locating washer, two housing locating washers and two ball and cage assemblies. They provide loads to be supported and transmitted in both directions, to the shaft locating washer and to the housing locating washer. As a result, they offer increased flexibility.
